Dear ........

Why do i need a mobile compatible version of my companies desktop website?

Mobile web sites are not a replacement for your existing website but an addition and are designed in such a way that they can be viewed clearly on over 5000 mobile devices which is not the case with a website designed for desktop computers.

The Office of National Statistics results for 2011 say that 45% of internet users connected via a mobile phone, up from 31% in 2010. The first thing to consider is to register your current domain name for mobile compatible networks so that it is instantly recognized as a mobile web address.

.mobi is the domain name specifically aimed at the mobile networks and is classed as a TLD (Top Level Domain) with the launch was financed by such companies as Google, Microsoft and Ericsson to name just a few

Quote from Google UK and Ireland CEO:

Matt Brittin who is the CEO of Google UK and Ireland quoted "Brands need to be fully aware that Google's recent changes all point to the search company's absolute focus on mobile. He says that the company designs everything first for mobile, and then other platforms"

His view is "If you think the internet revolution is big, the mobile revolution is going to be bigger and much more widespread and faster"
