This is a common practice in every society but through the internet you can get referrals from people sitting in different parts of the world. Hence you can ask a person in Japan about the leading television manufacturing company while being seated in Toronto.
Online social networking has also opened the doors for people to get educated about different cultures and people. Since people of different regions interact with each other they get to learn about the cultural practices of a distant land, its customs and even the language of its people. Furthermore you can get the advice and learn from the experiences of people from all around the world.
