Designing the layout involves dividing the web page into different portions and deciding upon the content that is going to be placed in those portions. For example a normal web page may have a place for a banner, header, footer, buttons and main body.
Web designers pay a great deal of emphasis to the process of building a layout. This is because the different kind of content that has to be displayed on a web page has its order of importance and must appear according to it. Appropriate portioning creates a balance in the web design and although the average visitor may not know exactly what’s wrong with the website but a poor layout is bound to put him off.
When the layout aspect has been resolved next is the aspect of decorating it with the graphics. It is always best to create your own web graphics rather than rip them off from another source. By creating your own web graphics you can make sure that they reflect your company’s style and can truly transform your website into a graphical representation of your company. Furthermore the design aspect must be such that it appeals to your target audience.
